MASTERPOINTS AND PERFORMANCE INDEX
The SABF’s Masterpoint Scheme was introduced to stimulate interest in organised duplicate bridge and provide a means of measuring and recording the achievements of players of organised duplicate bridge. Points are awarded in several types of competition and the scales of awards for the different forms of competition are related to the standard measure as accurately as possible in all the varying circumstances.

PERFORMANCE INDEX
In order to place more weight on recent form, a Performance Index (PI) has been introduced as follows:

PI = Total Red Points plus ¼ Blue Points earned in the last 5 years.

The PI is recalculated as the Masterpoints are submitted.
